More digitalisation, more collaborative work

Nowadays, the use of information and communications technologies (ICT) for collaborative work, the access to the Internet and the large accessibility to social media have caused a great disruption, offering unlimited access to information through a single click.

In this sense, this reality is also part of organisations and boosts a collaborative working methodology focused on acquiring knowledge beyond individualities, taking into account team diversity.

Collaborative work involves the intervention of several areas and skills at the same time. According to the author Cecilia Artola (2012), by working collaboratively, concepts such as research, creativity, interaction, participation and communication necessarily interact: and, in turn, other aspects are involved, such as learning, strategies, previous experience, innovation and the goals the organisation seeks to achieve.

Thus, new technologies allow greater interaction and communication among people and the possibility to share information that makes collaborative work much easier. However, we must take into account that each tool has its singularity, and that they are all related because through them, we can register and monitor tasks, avoiding pressure and facilitating task assignment.

Scrum methodology platforms, e-mail, cloud platforms and professional social media make assignment and follow-up processes less tedious, thus avoiding disruptions or unnecessary meetings with an efficient time management.

Every day, business objectives make us deal with new challenges that are consistent with the needs of our environment, our clients and our workers. Thus, it is essential to anticipate and evolve at our competitors’ pace.
