How Aliat Universidades Boosted Its Students’ Employability with PDA

Aliat Universidades, an educational network with over 50 years of experience in Mexico, is a benchmark in shaping professionals ready to tackle the challenges of the workforce. Operating in 13 states across the country and serving a community of more than 47,000 students, Aliat faced a critical challenge: personalizing career guidance and enhancing students’ skills to improve their employability.

To address this need, Aliat implemented two innovative tools: the PDA Behavioral Assessment and Talent Compass. This decision marked a turning point in how students identify their competencies and prepare for career success.

The Challenge: Connecting Skills with Opportunities

Committed to going beyond academic training, Aliat sought to empower its students with tools that would allow them to better understand themselves and stand out in the job market. However, the lack of specific data on each student’s competencies made it difficult to offer personalized guidance and design effective development strategies.

The integration of the PDA Behavioral Assessment and Talent Compass enabled Aliat to map the competencies and skills of more than 47,000 students. This not only helped to personalize their development but also empowered them to effectively showcase their strengths in their résumés and job interviews.

For instance, in fields such as Rehabilitation and Therapy, the assessment results identified key competencies like patience and self-control, which are critical for success in these professional areas.

From Assessment to the Classroom: A Holistic Strategy

To ensure the program’s success, Aliat incorporated the use of PDA tools into two mandatory courses: Managerial Skills and Employability Models. This strategy ensured that all students engaged in the self-awareness process and were prepared to apply their learnings in real-world work environments.

Additionally, teachers were trained to interpret the results and provide specific guidance tailored to the needs of each academic program. This strengthened the academic support system and increased student engagement in their professional development.

While the journey wasn’t without challenges, such as adapting the results to the unique requirements of each program, the positive impact was undeniable. Students began to see the value of the process and recognized how these tools enhanced their career opportunities.

Continuing the Transformation

Today, Aliat Universidades is committed to continuing this transformation by expanding the use of the PDA Behavioral Assessment to more areas and exploring new tools to remain at the forefront of professional preparation for its students.

The partnership with PDA has impacted not only the students but also the organizational culture at Aliat. Teachers and students now share a clearer vision of the competencies needed to succeed in the job market. This positions Aliat Universidades as an institution dedicated to comprehensive training and the employability of its community.
